My sister-in-law Dorothy has a little laminated card she passes out freely. Besides the words “Jesus Loves You” and her name, it reads: “I shall pass this way but once. Therefore, any good that I can do, or any kindness that I can show, LET ME DO IT NOW. For I shall not pass this way again.” (Stephen Grellet)
Life truly is short! And we only live it once! Therefore, any good that we can do or any kindness we can show, we need to do it NOW.
I love to spend time browsing in bookstores. Recently, I was struck by a whole shelf full of short motivational slogans. They were written on plaques, pens, and paperweights. Others on bookmarks, cups and plates. While others were creatively displayed on notebook covers, towels, and dozens of other items. I took the time to jot down some of the ones that caught my attention and later blended them together (with some personal thoughts) into a few paragraphs for some self-motivation. This is how it reads.
“In a world full of people who are asleep to their greatness, choose to be a dreamer. Every dream begins with a dreamer. Don’t settle for mediocrity. Break free from the frequently self-imposed and restricting limits you set for yourself and shoot for the stars. There are no limits where they are - and there are no limits to those who set no limits – for with God, all things are possible! So dream, explore, discover.
Be focused, disciplined, hungry, committed, determined, and driven. Be a believer in all you can become in God. You are not here just to take up space. Nor are you here to be like everyone else. You are here for a Divine purpose. A specific purpose unique to you alone. You are here to make a difference! You are here to be everything God designed for you to be. So don’t stop ‘til you are!
Be strong! Muster the will, determination and courage, with God’s help, to step out! Follow the adventure of your dreams. Do you not think God had something to do with them? Let your imagination run wild. Take risks. Be bold. Live the story you want to tell. Be your own kind of beautiful. Be your best self! For if you don't – in years to come, the one person who will be most disappointed with being "just like the crowd" will be you.” (GP - adapted)
“In everything you do, put God first, and he will direct you and crown your efforts with success.” Proverbs 3:6 LB
Be blessed my friend.
