The Bible says, “Where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.” (James 3:16 KJV) Because confusion is divisive it is toxic and dangerous to the social order of man. The chief enemy of the Church, Satan, knows this and uses confusion at all levels to accomplish his destructive purposes. From his first attempts in the Garden of Eden to sow seeds of confusion in man’s mind about the authority of God, on throughout history, he has been at work with his language of deception and falsehood.
In Ezekiel 34 Satan brought confusion to Israel by duping the “shepherds” of the people. They became more interested in personal gain than the sheep for which they were responsible and forsook their duties to care for God’s flock. It ultimately brought the stern intervention of God who set them aside for their lack of concern for God’s interests.
God himself often used the power of confusion to accomplish his higher purposes. “I will stir up Egyptian against Egyptian – brother will fight brother, neighbor against neighbor, city against city, kingdom against kingdom. The Egyptians will lose heart, and I will bring their plans to nothing.” (Isaiah 19:2-3) At Babel God brought confusion by introducing different languages to head off an arrogant people from thinking they ruled the world. (Gen. 11:7)
Today in many sectors, confusion reigns. Our main channels of communication have become pawns in the hands of influential interest groups to promote their narrow agendas. Flick the channels between CNN and FOX reporting on the same news item and you think you are living in two different worlds. Misinformation and carefully crafted partial information contribute to the confusion of the day.
In a little-known covert document that first appeared in 1922, an “inner circle of 300 of the world’s most wealthy global influencers” detail how they will one day govern the fate of Europe and then the entire world. One would think it was written today. Here is an excerpt from that document. “By all means we shall so wear down the people of the world that they will be compelled to offer us international power of a nature that by its position will enable us without any violence gradually to absorb all the state forces of the world and to form a super-government. In place of the rulers today we shall set up a bogey (monstrosity/beast) which will be called the Super-Government Administration. Its hands will reach out in all directions like nippers and its organization will be of such colossal dimensions that it cannot fail to subdue all the nations of the world.”
Why do I even quote this? It is to caution us all that we may be aware and stand against “the devil’s schemes.” (Eph. 6:11-12) Today, interest groups of all kinds are sowing seeds of confusion. Others are deviously sowing violence, instability, and fear. The world is in uproar! The global condition leading up to the return of Christ will be one of orchestrated mass confusion – back of which is Satan and his cohorts who are strongly at work …with this noteworthy caveat: “For God has put it into their hearts to accomplish HIS purpose by agreeing to give the beast (the anti-Christ) their power to rule until God’s words are fulfilled.” (Rev. 17:17) Let there be no doubt! God will ultimately and convincingly triumph! (Rev. 20:7-19; Psalm 33:10-11)
“In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust; let me never be put to confusion. Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to escape; incline thine ear unto me, and save me. Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort; thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress.” (Psalm 71:1-3 KJV)
Be blessed my friend.
